As you see above, almost every game has at least one Vees alumni taking part. 11 games feature former Vees going head-to-head as well. They’re some great match-ups to get excited about.

Key highlights for me:

  • Minnesota plays 11 times on either The Score or Big Ten Network. 4 times on The Score and four times on BTN. This is 11 times to watch two-thirds of the Reilly brothers doing there thing in Gopher colours. I’m looking forward to seeing what Mikey Reilly can do on the big ice at the next level.
  • Seven times Joel Rumpel and the Wisconsin Badgers will be on TV. Rumpel split time last year in goal and will be gunning for the number-one job. He had a strong freshman year and I look forward to seeing what he can do as a Sophomore. Plus he will be joined by dynamic Silverback grad Morgan Zulinick who is no slouch either.
  • Steven Fogarty and the Irish will be on TV six times and here’s hoping Mario Lucia can get back for a large chunk of those games as well.
  • Twice Bryce Gervais, Nick Buchanan and Minnesota-State will be on the air-waves; Gervais will love it. One matchup that intrigues me is the Mankato-Minnesota showdown on January 25th at Mariucci Arena.
  • A healthy dose of Kyle Mountain and Vermont, along with Curtis Loik and Penn State. The Catamounts are on TV four times and the Nitty Lions have two road games featured. Lots of eyes will be on Penn State as they venture into their first season of Div l hockey.
  • The defending National Champion Boston College Eagles and Isaac MacLeod are featured once against Merrimack on February 24th.
  • March 1st, 2013. Circle that date. Joey Laleggia and Denver pay a visit to Minnesota. Two uber-gifted defensemen going head-to-head. Mike Reilly and Laleggia have combined for 230 points during their time in Penticton. That game will pack a punch.
  • March 3rd: Former cCptain Logan Johnston and the Riverhawks battle Merrimack. The people of Lowell are going to like Logan. A lot.
