You want a recaps?! I got some recaps for you.

If you’re living under a rock, former Vees Mario Lucia and Mike Reilly are one of 26 players gunning for spots on Team USA for the 2013 World Junior Hockey Championships in Ufa, Russia.

On Thursday morning, the Americans played their first of two pre-competition games in Finland. Yesterday the Yankees downed Sweden 3-2 in overtime, and both Lucia and Reilly had strong outings.

Official USA Hockey Recap

Chris Peters’ United States of Hockey rundown

From United Sates of Hockey…

  • “Lucia also saw his time dwindle down the stretch of the game, but his feather pass to Ryan Hartman for Team USA’s second goal was just beautiful.”
  • “I think Reilly had the type of game he needed to have to give himself a chance to make the final roster.”

The USA wraps up it’s pre-tournament exhibition schedule tomorrow (Saturday) morning against Finland. You can watch the game live on TSN starting at 3AM PT or watch the rebroadcast at 6:30pm. If you live outside of Canada, the USA game and all tournament games will be on the NHL Network.

(I will be back to regular blogging and updates on all things Vee by tomorrow afternoon, as I’m winding down two-day trek in the wild A.K.A Hornby Island.)
