WJHC Update: USA Final Four Bound

USA walked over the Czech Republic in a 7-0 whitewash in Quarter-Final action Wednesday at the World Junior Hockey Championship. The US now will face Canada, again, in one Semi-Final tomorrow (or tonight?) at 1 AM PT / 4 AM ET.

Mike Reilly and Mario Lucia were held pointless in the win but that won’t bother the two one bit. A rematch against Canada, for a spot in the gold medal game, is all the two will be thinking about now.

USOF in-depth recap

In the other Quarter-Final on Wednesday, Russia needed a shootout to put away a pesky Swiss team 5-4. Twice the Swiss came back from two goals down AND had a 3-2 lead late in the third period. However, Russia tied the game with under two minutes on the power-play and won in the skills competition. Russia faces Sweden in the other Semi-Final.
