Vees Alumni Given WCHA Honours

Joey Laleggia, Mark MacMillan and Joel Rumpel were among several players recognized by the WCHA today. The league announced it’s award winners and all-stars for the 2012-2013 collegiate season and the three former Vees made the cut.

Laleggia was named to the All-WCHA Second Team and Mark MacMillan (along with brother Mitch) and Joel Rumpel were named to the All-Academic team. There was some chatter on Twitter among WCHA media types discussing why Rumpel wasn’t on one of the three all-star teams. Rumpel had a fantastic season but this year’s crop of goaltending was darn good and he didn’t play as much as others; regardless a banner year for the sophomore.

Congrats to the three alumni on their seasons.
