This past weekend the five Division l conferences held their championships, as Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Canisius, UMASS-Lowell and Union won their respective conference championships.
Sunday evening the 16-team NCAA tournament bracket was announced, as the field of 16 teams will try to make their way to Pittsburgh for the Frozen Four championship in April. 18 former teams are on 10 of the 16 teams in the tournament which starts on Friday. St. Cloud State and Minnesota lead the way three former Vees on their respective rosters.
Recapping the Conference Championships:
Joel Rumpel and the Wisconsin Badgers won the WCHA Final Five title at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota on Saturday night. Wisconsin held of Colorado College 3-2 in the title game. Rumpel was named tournament MVP and named to the All-Tournament team (WCHA Story)

Notre Dame won the final CCHA championship on Sunday, as the downed Michigan 3-1 in the championship game at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. Mario Lucia assisted on the game-winning goal in the third period and Steven Fogarty saw some important minutes throughout the game (CCHA Story)
