Vees Slip in CJHL Rankings

The CJHL came out with its weekly National Top 20 this morning and the Vees have slipped from 8th to 14th this week. The Vees split their two games last week, winning Friday in double-overtime against Vernon (6-5) and losing in Salmon Arm on Saturday (4-2).

I personally don’t get wrapped up in the rankings, but it’s good recognition for programs across the CJHL nonetheless. I feel it’s an arbitrary ranking, as it’s truly hard to judge over 100 teams in 10 different Jr. ‘A’ leagues across Canada. Too many variables to get an accurate gage on who’s indeed the best in Canada. But it’s great for fans and media types to discuss and engage in debate over, so it serves a purpose at some level. Not trying to discount other teams successes, but teams know who the top programs are in their respective leagues. I’ll bring this up again, the BCHL should look at doing a league power rankings from 1-16. That would be more topical in my opinion and better for fans across the BCHL.
