Rankings + WJAC

Another week, another edition of the CJHL Top 20 national rankings and the Vees have slipped four spots down to 18th. The Vees split last weekend’s schedule, beating Vernon 6-5 in double-overtime but also dropped a 4-2 decision in Salmon Arm. This is the “lowest” the Vees have been ranked this season, surpassing the previous mark of 17.

Hey, they’re still among the top 20 best teams in the country according to this poll! RANKINGS! I’m sure you’re all well aware what my feelings are with these arbitrary polls. If not, just scroll back through the blog and you’ll see where I’m coming from. The Vees will have an opportunity to climb the rankings this weekend, when they embark on a three game Island Division road trip starting Friday in Powell River.

Also, Paul Stoykewych and Team Canada West are underway against the Swiss in their opening game of the World Junior ‘A’ Challenge in Yarmouth, Nova, Scotia. You can watch every game and for FREE on Fasthockey. The puck was  just dropped, as it was a noon start here on the west coast.
