Vees Get A Bump In The Rankings

CJHL-450

After securing five out of a possible six points on their Island Division road trip, the Vees have moved up one spot to 17th in the weekly CJHL Top 20 rankings. The Vees won 7-3 over Powell River and 4-3 over Alberni Valley on the weekend. Those two wins bookending a 3-2 overtime setback in Nanaimo on Saturday.

This may not be the only good news coming out of the Vees road trip, as you would have to think Captain Brad McClure is getting serious consideration for the BCHL Player of the Week award. McClure had four goals and eight points in the three games this past weekend, including a four point night Friday in Powell River.

The Vees returned to the ice today for a short practice after an off day Monday. The Vees are getting set to play the West Kelowna Warriors on Friday at RLP; just the second meeting between the two rivals this season. West Kelowna is at home tonight to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks in a key four versus five match up in the Interior.
