Finlay, Rockets at the Telus Cup

Incoming Vees forward and Denver University commit Liam Finlay and his midget team, the Okanagan Rockets, are vying for a national championship at the 2014 Telus Cup in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan this week. Finlay, 17, and the Rockets opened the tournament with a 3-3 tie against the Quebec representatives, the Grenadiers de Chateauguay on Monday. Finlay was named the Player of the Game for the Rockets on Monday, as his goal midway through the third period earned the Rockets a tie.

Today the Rockets look for their first win of the tournament when they face the host Moose Jaw Generals at 6:30 PST. The game can be seen on Fasthockey, free of charge, or you can go to the official Telus Cup website and watch it there (TELUS CUP WEBSITE). The Generals also opened the their schedule with a tie, as they and the Halifax McDonald’s settled for a 2-2 tie on Monday.
