Vees RBC Cup Schedule

RBC-Cup-Teams

The Penticton Vees fly out tomorrow morning for the 2015 RBC Cup in Portage, Manitoba. The Vees will be flying out of YLW in Kelowna on Thursday morning and will arrive around 5-6pm, Central Time, in Portage.

The Vees RBC Cup schedule starts on Saturday, May 9th, when they play the host Portage Terriers. Odd scheduling quirk has these two teams playing essentially back-to-back games against each other; remember their last game was the WCC Final in Fort McMurray.

Vees’ 2015 RBC Cup Schedule:

Saturday, May 9th vs. Portage Terriers 12pm PST / 3pm ET
Sunday, May 10th, vs. Melfort Mustangs 12pm PST / 3pm ET
Tuesday, May 12th, vs. Carleton Place Canadians 12pm PST / 3pm ET
Thursday, May 14th, vs. Soo Thunderbirds 12pm PST / 3pm ET

Semi-Final 1 Saturday, May 16th 12pm PST / 3pm ET
Semi-Final 2 Saturday, May 16th 5pm PST  / 8pm ET

Championship Sunday, May 17th 5pm PST / 8pm ET

So, as you can see, another scheduling oddity has the Vees playing all four of their round-robin games at 12 pm PST / 3 pm ET. What I saw in the past was every team played two afternoon games and two night games but that seems to have changed this year. It’s a tough start to the Vees RBC Cup schedule but then they have days off between their final two round-robin games before the semi-finals on Saturday. Back-to-back situation right away but some much needed rest later in the tournament.

Every Vees’ game will be on EZ Rock AM 800 locally and www.penticton.myezrock.com if you want to listen and live outside of the Penticton area. I’ll bring you all the action from Portage and we will hit the air waves half-an-hour before puck-drop, with our Cherry Lane Shopping Centre pre-game show.

If you want to watch, Hockey Canada is streaming the games via Fasthockey on their website, www.hockeycanada.ca/RBCCup.

That website above is also where you can buy single-game and tournament ticket packages for the RBC Cup. Once you navigate your way to the website, just click on the “Tickets” tab at the top of the page. Single-game tickets for non-Portage Terriers games are $15 per person. Full tournament packages are $210.
