It’s hump day at Vees Main Camp and today is also the Vees’ first exhibition game of the year, as they travel up to West Kelowna to face the Warriors at 7 pm.

Above is tonight’s line-up of Vees prospects who will be facing a similar line-up of Warriors prospects at Royal LePage Place. No veterans or recruited players are in the line-up for the Vees but as Head Coach Fred Harbinson pointed out in the Penticton Herald today, it’s a chance for younger players to make a positive impression on the coaches in regards to who will be looked at as affiliate players for the upcoming season. Some of these players tonight could be wearing Vees colours in the next season or two. Tonight is their first chance at taking that step.

Those not playing tonight will be practicing at the SOEC  for about an hour and then go through some off-ice fitness testing. The regular camp schedule of two ice sessions per-group resumes tomorrow morning. The first batch of cuts at Main Camp will be made after the annual Blue-White intrasquad game on Saturday afternoon.

There will be NO broadcast of tonight’s game but if you’re on Twitter, the team’s account (@PentictonVees) will provide period summaries. We will have a game recap on the team’s website (http://www.pentictonvees.ca) after the game as well.
