Vees Atop of Pre-Season Rankings

Today the CJHL released its pre-season Top 20 “Power Rankings” for the fast approaching 2015-16 Junior ‘A’ season. As always, the rankings caused a stir on social media, as many fans and media types questioned the seeding of various teams, or why one team was picked over another.

Good news (I think) for Vees fans is the fact Penticton sits atop of the rankings, as they start the year ahead of last year’s RBC Cup champion (Portage) and runner-up (Carleton Place).

I don’t take too much stock in the rankings  but they’re great for water cooler debate and a feather in the cap for the organization I suppose. The next rankings come out at the end of the month.

The Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) announced today its Pointstreak Pre-Season Top 20 rankings for the 2015-2016 season. The leagues in which the teams belong to are in parenthesis.

The Pointstreak CJHL pre-season rankings are based upon a variety of factors which includes the league in which the teams belong to, last season’s results in regular season and playoffs as well as initial recruiting efforts for the upcoming season.  Best wishes to all as the quest begins for the RBC Cup in Lloydminster, Alberta in May 2016.
